Ginseng Ficus: The Perfect Bonsai Tree for the brown thumb.

If you like the look of bonsai, but doubt you have the time or savvy to care for a bonsai tree, then try Ginseng Ficus, a great-looking bonsai tree that is easy to care for. This indoor bonsai tree responds to a wide range of light conditions and can dry out between waterings. Very easy to take care of this bonsai tree but I would keep it in a well lighted window. I you are interested in placing a bonsai in your office or at home this bonsai is for you.

 

Ficus Nerifolia (willow leaf ficus):

A good for indoor & outdoor bonsai. A warm-weather plant, like all ficus trees, Ficus nerifolia is best suited to plant hardiness zones 10 through 11, and must be protected from frost. This spices of ficus is known for its resemblance to weeping willow tree with light green narrow pointed leaves and fast growth branch, it has a very appealing and sharp look.

This is a forgiving tree to raise in shady light condition, it will quickly become an impressive looking bonsai tree. Since your bonsai is a living miniature tree, it will increase in beauty as it matures through the years and look good in your home or office.

 

Dwarf Schefflera (arboricola):

If you are inexperienced with bonsai or you do not have a green thumb. This is one of the easiest bonsai trees to care for and is a very beautiful "trouble-free" indoor evergreen.

This evergreen is a Variegated Dwarf Schefflera but the not variegated (yellow white stripes in foliage) all green one is just as easy to take care off. This tree is great for home, office, dorm or anywhere and does well in low to high lighting conditions.

This pre-bonsai will looks good as a bonsai in your home or office.

 

Baby Jade (Portulacaria afra 'variegata'):

The Variegated Baby Jade or Portulacaria afra ‘variegata’, also known as the Rainbow Bush because of the cream and green color of the foliage and the attractive reddish-brown stem. It is a soft-wooded, semi-evergreen upright small tree. Similar in appearance to the Jade Plant (Crassula argentea), but has smaller and rounder pads and more compact growth.

The Variegated Baby Jade will thrive indoors in high light and appreciates being kept outdoors during the spring and summer. When night time temperatures drop below 45 degrees place the tree back inside.

A nice pre-bonsai will make a beautiful bonsai tree for any collection.

 

Podocarpus (macrophyllus):

This Podocarpus has a more delicate appearance with longer, thinner, pointed leaves (lighter in color) and weeping branches. Podocarpus is a slow-growing evergreen also known as Yew and Buddhist Pine.

This is native to China and Japan and may grow to 45 feet.

The Podocarpus tree is successful in a variety of growing conditions. It does well in full sun and semi-shade. It is an indoor or outdoor bonsai tree. Don't leave it outside in 55 degree Fahrenheit, bring it indoors and put it by a bright light window.

The tree which is unisexual, has male flowers in cones and female flowers composed of cylindrical thickened scales. The fruits are edible, pedunculated, fleshy and brightly colored blueish and purple. This is the perfect bonsai for your home or office.
